Pipeline Safety for Texas School Bus Drivers

Texas has more pipelines than any other state in the Nation and many of them run parallel to or intersect with school bus routes. Since vehicles (including busses) can be ignition sources for flammable vapors that may be present during a pipeline leak, developing essential knowledge and skills among Texas School Transportation Directors and Bus Drivers is critical to student safety. Explore how to identify and respond to a hazardous pipeline leak along a daily bus route and considerations for assisting in a school pipeline emergency evacuation. Complete this 30-minute multimedia lesson online solo or use it to conduct an internal training with your team.

Pipeline Safety for Texas School Officials

Pipelines can often be overlooked when assessing risks, threats and hazards in and around school campuses. Reviewed as "eye-opening" by many School Officials across the state, this regionally-customized eLearning module explores county pipeline maps and information you need to know to safely co-exist with neighboring pipelines. Discover Texas stories that drive the school pipeline safety missions of the Smalley Foundation and others, and discover how you can take an active role in being aware, prepared and preventive on behalf of student safety. Complete this 30-minute multimedia lesson online solo or use it to conduct an internal training with your team.
